An Unexpected Find at my Favorite Thrift Store. She's a Beauty!

I love creative fun up-cycle recycle projects .. and ... as you know ...  I love to go junkin'.

I've tried to back off of the " junkin' - garage sale yard sale - fun " .  I already have an abundance of treasures I need to list in my eBay and Etsy stores.  ( Do you know how hard it is to pass up a garage sale ? Ugh! Breaks my heart, every time! hahahaha ! )

I have also tried to keep my creative projects at a minimum, as I'm struggling to finish my first creative task that I started months ago.
That's just sad !!!

Saying that. I have cheated a bit.  A junkin' girl has to have a little fun  once in a while....right ?

I stopped at my favorite "honey hole thrift store".  I didn't really plan on treasure hunting. Just an innocent trip to the thrift store for some work clothes.
I spent quite a bit of time going through racks and racks of clothes, didn't come up with much. Headed towards the check out , which is near the furniture area.
* Oh. My. Word. * There she was....winking at me!!! Gah!

I HAD to go over and say hello !!!
I looked her over and then.......I saw the price tag.

$4.99 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh my gosh !!!! I quickly (well... it was more like : running to the cash register - sprint )  found an associate  - so that I could pay for her  !!! She was going home with me !!!

There was a  nice young man that helped me carry her to the car. ( She is solid wood! Heavy - solid wood! )
I mentioned that I couldn't believe she was still there.
He said " Ma'am......we JUST put it on the sales floor ! "
I then knew .... it was meant to be!!!
I had been frustrated that I spent so much time shopping for clothes - only to find a little something  .... glad I didn't give up on the clothes ! I would have departed without ever seeing her!

Now, I know that you may think I'm a bit crazy for doing this. But. I'm going to paint over the roses / art work. I think the original artist did an amazing job. I feel bad painting over them .... however,  it doesn't match my decor.

Here's to hoping I can get this project done before the snow flies.
I'm excited to have her in my office one day.
She will be perfect to replace another piece I am going to sell.

I hope you are enjoying your summer.
Thanks for stopping by! Always always appreciated!

Hugs and Happy Treasure Hunting!
